Shia cleric Sibtain Kazmi arrested in terrorist Azam Tariq murder case

Allama Sibtain Kazmi, a leader of Tehreek-e-Jafaria Pakistan, who was nominated in the case of murder of notorious takfiri ringleader of banned terrorist outfit Sipah-e-Sahaba aka ASWJ, has been arrested in Islamabad.

Allama Kazmi was declared a proclaimed offender in the murder case of Azam Tariq and an amount of rupees one million was declared as the prize money by the government for his arrest.

Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested him at Islamabad airport when he was leaving for Manchester UK via Doha. He was handed over to Islamabad police. Case against him was registered at Golra police station.

It is strange that a Shia Muslim scholar is arrested for murder of a ringleader of an outlawed terrorist outfit despite the fact that it was state’s responsibility to rid Shia citizens of Pakistan of genocide perpetrated by Azam Tariq’s Sipah-e-Sahaba.

Azam Tariq himself was a terrorist but he was not awarded capital punishment. Instead, he was allowed to contest elections from behind the bars and he was an ally of Pervez Musharraf-led government in 2002-03. Azam Tariq perpetrated blasphemy but the neither executive nor judiciary could dare punishing him.

Many innocent Shia Muslims had so far been detained and tried in the Azam Tariq murder case. They were tortured inhumanely and were forced to ‘confess’ the murder but so far, the case was not resolved. The authorities concerned, it seems, use this case to implicate innocent Shia Muslims and defame them.
