Crackdown on banned outfits continues, dozens arrested

The ongoing crackdown against banned outfits continued on Friday as dozens of workers allegedly belonging to proscribed organisations were arrested in Punjab and numerous mosques, seminaries and other establishments run by the organisations were taken over by the provincial government, Express News reported.

The crackdown against banned outfits was launched under the National Action Plan (NAP) and according to sources, intelligence agencies and the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) also took action against the organisations. Control of 16 seminaries and nine dispensaries was also taken over by the authorities.
