President Arif Alvi on Tuesday pledged to foil nefarious designs of all anti-state elements that compromise the nation’s security.
Four days after the suicide attack in the Hazar Ganji market that claimed the lives of 20 people, the president visited Quetta to condole with the bereaved families.
“There shall be no compromise on security as peace is central to nation’s progress,” the president said, vowing that the federal government is united with the provincial government to serve the cause.
Alvi made the remarks in a press conference alongside Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan.
The president said peace is essential and maintained that the federal government stands by the provincial government to maintain peace in Balochistan.
He also expressed satisfaction that the sit-in staged by the Hazara community against the terrorist attack ended peacefully.
The president and the governor, in a meeting, also discussed the overall security situation of the province.
