The state of Pakistan has decided on its own to take action against banned terrorist outfits and it is state’s own decision, said Member of Punjab Assembly Syeda Zahra Naqvi who is also MWM women wing head.
She said in an interview that the state of Pakistan has realised the fact that durable peace in the country cannot be established without action against terrorists and nor Pakistan could give positive message to the world.
“I would not say there is no international pressure. Yes, that is there because Pakistan is facing allegations and whenever terror attacks are reported in India or elsewhere, (first) blame is hurled at Pakistan and it brings bad name to Pakistan,” she said.
Zahra Naqvi further said that terrorists are enemies of Pakistan’s good relations with neighbouring countries and foreign hand and their local facilitators too have their role in it. However, Pakistan and Iran are on same page on counterterrorism actions.
She said steps were being taken to improve relations with Iran. She suggested the civil and military leaderships of Pakistan and Iran should take more steps to counter terror threats.
MPA Naqvi said that India had failed to defame Pakistan after its intrusion into Pakistan because Pakistan government preferred peace and de-escalation and conveyed to the world that Pakistan turns down warmongering being imposed by India and release of captured IAF pilot Abhinandan was a humane gesture that convinced the world of Pakistan’s commitment to peace.
