Tasu’a mourning ceremony kicks off in Imam Hussein’s Holy Shrine in Karbala

Tasu’a mourning processions are being held at the holy shrines of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and Hazrat AbolFazl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) in Karbala in Iraq.

Devotees of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) mourn ahead of the day of the martyrdom of the third Shia Imam and his family members as well as his loyal companions in the battle of Karbala.

Tens of Millions of mourners are commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of the Chief of Martyrs Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), Prophet Mohammad’s grandson.

Millions of mourners converge on the holy city of Karbala in Iraq in the first 10 days of the month of Muharram, observing mourning rituals leading up to the day of Ashura, on the 10th of the month.
