Punjab police arrests cleric who preaches Muslim unity in Pakistan that evoked reaction from his supporters.
First police registered a case against Ahl-e-Hadees cleric Engineer Mohammad Ali Mirza.

Then, the cops arrested him in Jhelum district of Punjab province.
His supporters rejected the charge of spreading religious hatred as baseless and concocted.
They said that Mohammad Ali Mirza calls for unity of Muslims.
Ahl-e-Hadees scholar had spoken against the “Pir” culture in Pakistan. According to charges, he also cited the dispute between Sunni Bralevi cleric Dr Tahirul Qadri and Ilyas Qadri.
Mirza allegedly suggested that Qadris’ dispute may end through sacrificing one Qadri by saving the other one.
However, many people also consider him a preacher of unity of Sunni-Shia Muslims.
