Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslmeen (MWM) has announced SOPs to be followed during Youm e Ali congregations which Shia Muslims will hold in commemoration of Imam Ali on his martyrdom anniversary.
In a statement issued here on Friday, Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Sindh chapter secretary general Allama Baqir Abbas Zaidi said this.
Moreover, he said that Shia Islamic religious authorities have already issued guidelines and they follow them.
MWM leader reminded the critics that the government had already given conditional permission for religious congregations.
He further cited that the government has eased lockdown as well. He asked why some elements are opposing Shia Islamic congregations such as Youm-e-Ali mourning on the martyrdom anniversary of Amirul Maumineen.
Allama Baqir said when every citizen is allowed out of their homes in accordance with the precautionary measures mentioned in the SOPs, then objection to Youm-e-Ali congregations is nothing but bias and sectarian hatred. He also rejected the unfair policy regarding Youm-e-Ali (AS).
MWM leader also slammed the Sindh government for playing politics over the issue.
He advised the Sindh government not to drag Shia Islamic congregation in their wrangling with the federation.
Furthermore, he urged Sindh govt they must not sacrifice Shia Islamic rituals as a pressure tactic to settle their score with the Centre.
