Delivering a speech on Friday held on the fifth night of Muharram in commemoration of Imam Hussein (AS), Sayed Hassan Nasrallah added that Hezbollah is also the largest party in Lebanon.
This is a positive thing, of course, he said, adding that it also brings responsibilities, Al-Manar reported.
The speech was organized by Hezbollah in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
Referring to the recent developments in Lebanon, Nasrallah said, “When we are confronted with political, security, economic and social events and developments that have repercussions on us and around us, we must define our duty.
“When one of us speaks about the situation in Lebanon, it has repercussions on the people and on their future.”
The secretary general of Hezbollah underlined that “people in these circumstances are partners in the responsibility, and after nearly 30 years of responsibility in this journey, I know very well how heavy the responsibility is.”
Nasrallah warned against historical projections on contemporary events, saying, “We must be patient in the face of daily difficulties and find solutions.”
He also said Imam Hussein (AS) rose up for big goals, “so one should not reduce the uprising to a little battle here or there.”
