Russia bans Amnesty International as ‘undesirable organization’
Russia’s Prosecutor General’s Office has banned the “undesirable activities” of Amnesty International.
The PGO explained that since the beginning of Russian forces special military operation in eastern Ukraine, the London-based organization has been doing everything in its power to fuel the Moscow-Kiev military confrontation.
“The Prosecutor General’s Office has made a decision to recognize the activities of Amnesty International Limited, an international non-governmental organization registered in London, as undesirable on the territory of Russia,” read a statement released by the PGO on Monday.
The PGO said Amnesty International workers justify crimes committed by Ukrainian neo-Nazis, call for an increase in their funding, and insist on Russia’s political and economic isolation.
“The participants in the organization support extremist organizations and finance the activities of foreign agents,” the PGO said.
