Iran, Pakistan won’t allow regional security to be exploited by enemies: Security chief

Iran’s top security official says the Islamic Republic and Pakistan will never allow enemies to exploit regional security.
Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Akbar Ahmadian made the remark in a phone call with Pakistan’s National Security Advisor Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik on Monday.
Ahmadian said Iran attaches great importance to strengthening cooperation with Pakistan, particularly in the political, economic and security sectors.
“The two neighboring countries are committed to [promoting] security of their shared borders and combating terrorism and will not allow the regional people’s peace to be a plaything for enemies,” he added.
The SNSC secretary emphasized that Tehran-Pakistan cooperation would serve regional interests and security, expressing his country’s firm determination to boost bilateral cooperation.
Asim Malik, for his part, praised Iran’s positive role in the region and said Islamabad is ready to develop political, security and social relations with Tehran.
Iran, India resolute on expanding ties to ensure regional security
The top Iranian security official said Iran and India are firmly determined to promote cooperation to ensure regional security and interests.
“Iran and India, as two big countries with ancient civilizations, have good grounds for political and economic cooperation,” Ahmadian added during a phone conversation with Ajit Kumar Doval, the National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of India.
He urged both sides to swiftly implement important plans, especially the development of Chabahar Port on the Sea of Oman.
Doval, for his part, pointed to Iran’s constructive role in the region and said Tehran and New Delhi would strengthen cooperation, especially in the economic sector.
He added that India makes efforts to enhance cooperation in the political, security, and economic fields, including the development of Chabahar Port and the North-South Corridor.
