Lebanese MP Qabalan Qabalan Condemns Israeli Airstrike on Beirut’s Southern Suburbs

Member of the “Development and Liberation” Bloc, MP Qabalan Qabalan, strongly condemned the Israeli aggression carried out on Sunday, where Israeli warplanes targeted a residential building in the southern suburbs of Beirut.
In his statement, Qabalan emphasized that “today’s Israeli attack on the southern suburbs is not just an assault on its residents, but an attack on the Lebanese state in its entirety — its pillars, institutions, sovereignty, independence, and security.”
He further asserted, “This aggression reaffirms that Israel and its allies have no regard for the Lebanese state. When the state fails to protect its people, it becomes necessary to seek alternative means of protection.” Qabalan recalled the words of Imam Musa al-Sadr in 1974 — before the establishment of the resistance and before the occupation — stating, “What he said was true: beware, reflect, and think carefully. Israel remains a comprehensive and ongoing threat.”
Israeli warplanes launched the latest airstrike on Sunday, targeting a building in the Hadath-Jamous area of Beirut’s southern suburbs. The strike led to the destruction of the targeted site and caused extensive damage to surrounding areas.
This aggression is part of a series of Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement since the end of the offensive on Lebanon in November last year.
