Six Years Since Hazar Ganji Bazaar Tragedy: Families Still Seeking Justice

It has been six years since the tragic attack at Hazar Ganji Bazaar in Quetta, Pakistan, which left a deep scar on the Shia Hazara community. On April 12, 2019, a Takfiri Wahhabi terrorist, disguised as a laborer, carried out a suicide bombing in the busy fruit and vegetable market. The attack resulted in the martyrdom of 14 Shia Hazara individuals, with 48 others suffering serious injuries.

The victims, mostly poor laborers selling fruits and vegetables, were targeted in an act of senseless violence. The bomb, hidden in a sack of potatoes, caused widespread devastation, leaving families shattered and the entire Jafariya nation mourning.

Six years later, the families of the martyrs and injured continue to demand justice from the state. Despite the passage of time, the pain of the tragedy remains fresh, and the affected families are still awaiting accountability for the loss of their loved ones. The Hazar Ganji Bazaar attack serves as a grim reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by the Shia Hazara community in Pakistan, who continue to suffer from sectarian violence and discrimination.
