Yemeni Forces Target Israel’s Ben Gurion Airport During Netanyahu’s Arrival

Yemen’s Armed Forces announced targeting the Ben Gurion airport in the central part of the occupied Palestinian territories concomitantly with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s arrival from a New York visit.

“The missile force of the Yemeni Armed Forces carried out a targeting operation on Yaffa Airport, called ‘Ben Gurion’ by the Israeli entity, during the arrival of the criminal Benjamin Netanyahu,” the forces said in a statement on Saturday, presstv reported.

The operation was carried out using a Palestine-2 ballistic missile, they added.

The strike came “in support of the oppressed Palestinian people and in response to the crimes of the Zionist enemy in Gaza and Lebanon”, the statement read.

The operation came amid the Israeli regime’s October-present genocidal war on the Gaza Strip and deadly escalation against Lebanon, which have respectively claimed the lives of at least 41,586 Palestinians and hundreds of Lebanese. Women and children comprise the majority of the victims.

The most recent stage of the escalation against Lebanon has seen the regime conducting dozens of airstrikes against the Southern suburbs of the country’s capital Beirut. The attacks led to the assassination of Secretary General of the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah, Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, besides causing hundreds of other casualties.

Complementing the statement, they vowed to “continue to respond to the crimes of the Israeli enemy and not hesitate to escalate in accordance with the requirements of the stage in the defense of Gaza and Lebanon”.

They pledged to sustain the operations “until the aggression on Gaza and Lebanon ceases”.

The leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah resistance movement Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi also offered his sincere condolences over the martyrdom of Nasrallah, stating that Israel is gravely mistaken to think it can break the resistance front’s will by assassinating its leaders and commanders.

“The Muslim world is mourning with immense sorrow, grief and pain the loss of our dear brother and formidable warrior Nasrallah. We extend our condolences to his family, Hezbollah, the Lebanese nation as well as Leader of the Islamic Revolution Seyed Ali Khamenei, Palestinians and all freedom-loving people of the world,” Al-Houthi said in a televised speech broadcast live from the Yemeni capital Sana’a on Saturday evening.

He described the loss of the late Hezbollah chief as a great tragedy for the entire Muslim world, stating that Nasrallah was a great and successful leader who embodied the values and ethics of Islam.

“The path of Nasrallah will continue. Hezbollah keeps up the spirit of faith, and continues the legacy of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Shia Imam, in the course of struggle against Israel,” he said.

“The Zionist enemy is gravely mistaken to think it can break the will of the Axis of Resistance through killing its leaders. Israeli assassinations of resistance leaders have consolidated resistance fighters’ determination,” Houthi noted.

The Ansarullah leader noted that the Axis of Resistance is resolute to step up its anti-Israel operations, no matter what the extent of sacrifices would be.

“The Zionist enemy will not manage to achieve its ambitions, and its collapse is inevitable,” Houthi said. “We will not abandon Palestinian and Lebanese nations. I give them assurances that we will remain steadfast and their blood will not go in vain,” he added.

Since the onset of the Israeli aggression against Gaza and Lebanon, the Yemeni forces have been conducting numerous retaliatory strikes against the occupied territories.
