A young man from Parachinar, named Wahid Ali, took a bold step during a PSL 2025 cricket match at Rawalpindi Stadium. Wahid Ali raised a banner on mobile in his hand, which featured slogans in support of Parachinar and informed the public that Parachinar has been under siege for the last seven months.
The banner read, “Parachinar is under siege, conditions have worsened for seven months,” immediately drawing attention from the spectators at the stadium. Wahid Ali stated, “No one is listening to us; we seized this opportunity to make the government and the public aware of the situation in Parachinar.”
Parachinar, located in the northern part of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, has been facing a number of challenges for several months. The area has been repeatedly cut off due to security issues, and the people of Parachinar are struggling with basic living conditions.
Before this action, Wahid Ali had repeatedly appealed to local authorities to initiate relief efforts and provide basic services to the people of Parachinar. He further stated, “We must raise our voice in every possible way to end this siege and ensure our people’s issues are addressed.”
This act of protest has raised public awareness about the current situation in Parachinar.
